www.british-antiqueclocks.com - Specialising in antique longcase clocks and barometers
P. A. Oxley is a leading specialist in quality British 17th, 18th and 19th century antique longcase, grandfather clocks and barometers.
For Michael Oxley, formerly managing director of a public company that was concerned with developing time machines for contemporary businesses, an interest in historic timepieces was hardly out of place.
He and his wife, Patricia, bought and restored their first antique longcase, grandfather clock in 1968, and within two years established P.A. Oxley Antique Clocks.
They moved into the Old Rectory at Cherhill in 1978. The business is now one of the largest of its kind, having an excellent international reputation, and supplying collectors and connoisseurs throughout the United Kingdom and overseas.
Visitors are welcome at our showrooms in a converted coach house, which was built in 1843 at the same time as the adjacent Old Rectory. A new showroom was added in 1988.
We do not exhibit at antique fairs, preferring to care for our antique longcase, grandfather clocks and barometers to best advantage at Cherhill.
P. A. Oxley are a member of LAPADA, The Association of Art and Antique Dealers, which is the UK's largest association of professional dealers in antiques and works of art.
